COMPUTER AIDED EARTHMOVING SYSTEMS (CAES) |
 |
| |
|
The Computer Aided Earthmoving System (CAES) from Caterpillar offers flexibilty to:
- Operate machines with greater precision for greater profit
- Optimize machine performance for precise grade and slope control
- Provide on-board precision or identification

CAESultra
CAESultra integrates planning and design operations with on-board computing to provide a near real-time link between the office and machine to optimize productivity, improve utilization and reduce costs. CAESultra uses an on-board computer, software, high precision GPS, and data radios to replace the manpower - and time - intensive processes associated with conventional surveying. CAESultra allows mine engineers to transmit designs wirelessly to the machine's on-board computer. The on-board computer system displays the mine plan, showing the operator where the machine is relative to the design area, what the current surface is, where the final design surface is to be, and in the case of loading machines, material map. The result is improved operator performance regardless of skill level. |

CAESbasic
CAESbasic offers a cost-effective way to manage grade control and lower the cost per ton of mining operations. The system gives the operator the information needed to control grade and slope earthmoving, allowing material to be moved to the right place the first time. CAESbasic can be used for grade control benches, roads, leach pads, dump areas, and all surfaces requiring earthmoving to specification. CAESbasic can be upgraded to full CAESultra functionality by purchasing an upgrade kit that includes a touch screen display, mounting brackets, main harness cable, and battery backup. |
