A Well Trained Operator Is A Safer, More Productive Operator
Well-trained operators are not only safer operators - they help you take advantage of machine features and contribute to a longer, more profitable machine life. Wyoming Machinery Company offers operator training on-site and at our facilities.
The primary focus of our operator training services is to increase production and efficiencies, realize longer machine and component life, reduce maintenance and repair costs, and reduce accidents and injuries.
Our Operator Training Services group offers several levels of operator training including new equipment and/or operator orientation, helping experienced operators refine skills, "Train The Trainer" instruction and even operator certification. We also offer machine Application and Performance seminars to customers.

High-Tech Operator Training In addition to hands-on training, we also utilize state-of-the-art Caterpillar Equipment Simulators that provide realistic machine operation in a safe, virtual environment. Our equipment simulators are available for use on your job site or at any of our locations.
The Virtual Training System (VTS) is an easy to use, cost effective and reliable training program which uses simulators with the latest software technology to meet the growing need to provide qualified operators to the workforce. Cat Simulators are designed to train and orient an entry level operator on basic machine operation, skills and application knowledge.
Cat Virtual Training System Benefits
- Training Record - Operator metrics can be retained as part of employee's training file.
- Reduced Production Loss - Minimizes the use of production machines for training.
- Increased Safety - Operators can train without risk to machines, themselves, instructors, other job site persons, or property.
- Increased Production - Operators that have pre-trained retain more training information (hear, see, simulate, operate) and are generally more productive on a real machine when starting in their operating job.
- Training Flexibility - Simulation training can take place any time, night or day, on site or off site and regardless of weather conditions.
- Reduced Costs - The Virtual Training System can decrease training costs by pre-screening applicants, decreasing training supervision requirements, reducing training time and machine operating costs.
- New Operator Skill Development - Allows the operator to develop their skills in a controlled and safe environment.
- Application Training - Competencies can be developed in a variety of typical applications.
- New Control Familiarization - Existing operators can learn new control designs and functions.
- Screening New Employees - The Virtual Training System allows an inexpensive and objective method to screen the capabilities of potential employees.
- Continuous Improvement - The Virtual Training System enables a company to provide initial operator skills instruction as a prelude to required instructor led training. The student can be measured against benchmarked operator competencies.
- Attitude - An operator who has had time on a Virtual Training System is more skilled, more confident and safer when he begins to do real work on a real machine. He will also understand the commitment his company has to safety and people development.
